Douglas Lemott, Jr.

Douglas “Doug” Lemott, Jr. is the Vice President of Secure Cloud Multi-Tenant Engineering, Ops. & Delivery SAP National Security Services (SAP NS2) and serves as the Secretary on Riphean Investments Advisory Board.

Bringing decades of experience supporting DoD cybersecurity missions to our Board, Doug supports strategic discussions, advises on future initiatives and supports the growth of portfolio companies.

As Vice President of SAP NS2, Doug is responsible for the strategy, design, and deployment of multi-tenant cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, and network systems to support SAP Platform products globally. Additionally, he is responsible for driving standardization via automation, integration, and security/compliance best practices for the multi-tenant solutions.

Prior to NS2, Doug worked at VMware, Inc. where he was the Director, Security and Compliance for the government, education, and healthcare sector. He provided strategic guidance to define corporate and business unit priorities for VMware product offerings and services to achieve and maintain cybersecurity and compliance requirements (FedRAMP, FIPS, HIPAA, etc.) across regulated markets.

Doug joined VMware after retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps with 27 years of service. In the Marine Corps, Doug was responsible for supervising the installation, operation, maintenance, and security of networks (data, voice, and video) to support the command and control function. He also led the Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group, responsible for the security, operation, and defense of the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN), which had over 300K subscribers. In this role, he ran the Network Operations Center and the Security Operations Center for the Marine Corps and executed defensive cyberspace operations to protect the MCEN and Marine Corps data from the persistent adversarial threat. In his final role, he led the branch responsible for executing the Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer functions for the Marine Corps as well as supporting the Marine Corps Authorizing Official.

Doug has a strong background and experience in information technology management, cybersecurity, network/security operations, governance, and compliance.
