Leadership Fredericksburg Hosts Riphean Investments Partner Joel Griffin as Guest Speaker
Griffin shares his leadership journey to Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s leadership class.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA., Oct. 19, 2021 – Leadership Fredericksburg, a leadership program presented by the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, hosted Joel Griffin, Founder and Partner of Riphean Investments, as guest speaker at their program and luncheon on October 15, 2021. Riphean Investments was the luncheon sponsor.
The Leadership Fredericksburg program is a nine-month course, providing the community with a pool of highly skilled and motivated leaders from a cross-section of industry who are deeply committed to improving the quality of life in the region while leading with integrity, best practices, and guiding principles. Griffin, a Leadership Fredericksburg graduate of 2009 who also serves on the Board of Directors for the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, spoke to the class about finding their why – sharing on his personal life experiences and his journey to leadership and becoming an entrepreneur.
“I believe in leadership as service, not management. It’s always been about the service for me,” said Griffin. “My journey through Leadership Fredericksburg strengthened my growth. I’m honored to continue to support and educate this program that helped train and mentor me. I hope to encourage our future leaders to serve a mission greater than themselves.”
The current class of Leadership Fredericksburg will graduate in May 2022. This year’s faculty leads are Dr. David Corderman with Academy Leadership Associates, Dr. J.R. Flatter with Flatter, Inc. and Chamber President/CEO Susan Spears. Janel Donohue with the Rappahannock United Way and Kimberly Young, with the University of Mary Washington complete the faculty. Mary Washington Healthcare is the program’s Title Sponsor.
